Connection timed out

What to do when your iPhone can't reach your Centurion brain.

Updated July 13, 20261 min read

Symptoms

  • "Connection timed out" when linking or reconnecting
  • Your Centurion doesn't respond after tapping it in the list

Cause

Your iPhone and Centurion brain could not reach each other on the network — usually different Wi‑Fi networks, a sleeping brain, or Local Network permission off.

Both devices must be on the same Wi-Fi network.

Steps

  1. Confirm your Centurion brain is powered on and its status light is steady.
  2. Make sure your iPhone is on Wi‑Fi, not cellular data.
  3. Check that both devices use the same Wi‑Fi network name.
  4. Enable Local Network for CenturionAI Remote — see Enable Local Network.
  5. Return to the app → Find my Centurion and try again.

Tip

Turn your iPhone's Wi‑Fi off and back on, then retry. A weak signal near the edge of your home can cause timeouts.

Verify

The link card shows Linked and Chat opens without a "not connected" banner.

If discovery works but linking stalls, see Stuck on "On your network".
