Thinking services won't load

Fix the case where your Centurion brain can't load or reach thinking services.

Symptoms

  • Thinking service list is empty or won't load
  • Your Centurion is having trouble thinking right now in Chat
  • Models show errors or spin indefinitely

Cause

Usually a network issue on the brain, a missing API key, or a temporary provider outage — not a device link problem.

Steps

  1. Confirm your iPhone is linked first — fix device link before thinking.
  2. Check that your brain has internet access (Ethernet connected, router online).
  3. You → Choose Thinking Service — try the built-in list fallback if shown.
  4. Pick a model manually or turn on Auto-select — see Choose a thinking service manually.
  5. If a model shows Needs key, add one — see Add API keys.
  6. If the brain was recently restarted, wait a minute and try again.

Tip

Switching to a different model is the fastest way to get replies flowing again during a provider outage.

Verify

A model shows Active and Chat replies arrive within a few seconds.
